Backstreet’s menu reflects Houston’s diverse food culture, with Southern, Cajun, Creole, Hispanic and Asian influences. Chef and owner Hugo Ortega began his culinary career at Backstreet as a dishwasher and is now a James Beard award-winning chef with five restaurants in Houston.
